Who We Are

The people we provide for recruitment opportunities are from UK and English speaking European Union nationals. Pro Active Recruitment and Training Ltd have a very close relationship with the UK Armed Forces and spend time converting their management and manual skills developed within the Armed Forces to the skills required to be successful within civilian employment.

At Pro Active Recruitment and Training Ltd we provide permanent and temporary recruitment solutions ranging from unskilled workers up to senior management roles in all types of industries. In addition we also offer support in fulfilling company's other needs whether that be training, telesales, facilities management or security provision. Our Head Office is based in York, but we serve all the UK and have both recruitment and training contracts in Finland, Poland, Southern Ireland, Southern Asia and the USA. We are a constantly growing company. We also work with local Universities and Colleges offering placements to students within our telesales department or administration.

The original company was founded and incorporated in February 2006 by the Managing Director Mr Brian Jones MIoD.

How did you get started in your business?

I served over 22 years in the Armed Forces and I decided it was a good time to do something totally different and see if the man management Skills I had developed over the years could be transferred into the wider world of civilian life.

One of the quick ways to get into business is to buy a lease for a public house, which I did on the outskirts of York. It did not take long to realise that this is a business which if not done correctly you are going lose a lot of money over a very short period of time.

After 6 years of running the business and achieving many accolades and becoming the Chairman of the Local LVA it was time to sell up and move onto the next challenge in life.

Over many years I have been involved in transport and logistics at all levels, working with many Industries. During this period of time I held 2 Senior Management roles and 2 Directorships so with the combined experiences of the Armed Forces, transport and logistics and running a public house it was time to put all these skills into one pot and start a new venture.

The new venture which I decided upon was recruitment and training. Knowing the qualities that companies look for and the problems the companies have to get what they want, I decided to launch Pro Active Recruitment and Training Ltd.

When I designed the company I wanted it to be different to other recruitment companies starting with quality of my staff and the high standards of professionalism I expect right through to the potential candidates, my rule of thumb is would I take them on when I was on the other side of the desk.
